Wolfsburg is one of the most dynamic business locations in Germany and is an excellently interconnected city for education and research. The key role plays the Volkswagen AG, which headquarters are situated in Wolfsburg. It is one of the biggest industrial companies worldwide. Additionally, there are many more national and international companies like Hexad or Sumitomo that appreciate the good economic infrastructure, the central location in Germany and the innovative power that originates in Wolfsburg. For their employees, it is important that the quality of life in the city does not leave any wishes unfulfilled.

In Wolfsburg, 59% of the employees are working in future-oriented industries (compared to a national average of 13,1%). These include mechanical engineering, the telecommunications industry or service providers of information technology. On top of that Wolfsburg is, as measured by the economic power per resident, one of the most economically powerful cities in Germany. With that, Wolfsburg is way ahead of the financial metropolis of Germany, Frankfurt, but also clearly ahead of other cities with a large automobile industry like for example Munich (72.356€).
